Dr. Bowyer G. Freeman is Senior Pastor of New St. Mark Baptist Church, located in Baltimore, Maryland.
Licensed to the Gospel Ministry by the church of his youth -- Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Glendale, Ohio, he relocated to the Baltimore-Washington, DC area in 1985. He was ordained as an Associate Minister of the First Baptist Church of Guilford in Columbia, Maryland in 1995. Dr. Freeman has daringly refused to accept mediocrity in ministry. A man of indomitable courage, keen spiritual vision and tenacious desire to advance the Kingdom of God on earth, he is sent to NSMBC "for such a time as this".

In tune with God's divine direction, Dr. Freeman's leadership has resulted in the purchase of property adjacent to our edifice for future expansion. Leading the Disciples of NSMBC under the Spirit-directed vision of Spiritual Regeneration, Social Transformation, Community Reconciliation, & Physical Restoration, -- NSMBC is not only growing numerically, but deepening in discipleship as learners, worshippers, and servants of God.
In the tradition of Fredrick Douglas, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., & Rev. Dr. John Louis Wright (his father in the ministry), Dr. Freeman is a social-justice minister grounded in the biblical writ. At age 29 he was elected the youngest President of an NAACP Branch in the state of Maryland (Howard County). He has served as Vice-Chairman and Chairman of NAACP Region 7 (Maryland, DC, & Virginia). A proponent of faithful stewardship, Dr. Freeman has served as Treasurer of the United Baptist Missionary Convention & Auxiliaries of Maryland, Inc.,(UBMC). In May 2006 he was elected Vice-President/Finance of UBMC. A gifted preacher, he has been blessed to preach the gospel on the continents of North America, Asia, Africa, and in the Caribbean. He is a gifted teacher. Wednesday Night Bible Study conducted by Dr. Freeman offers a variety of subjects targeted for spiritual growth and discipleship development.

Educational Background
· Born the youngest child of Acie and Katherine Freeman, Bowyer G. Freeman was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon graduating from Cincinnati Princeton School District, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Dayton (Ohio).
· Pastor Freeman is a life-long learner who continues to "study to show himself approved unto God". He has earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) all from Howard University in Washington, D. C.
Family Information
Dr. Freeman and his wife-- Mrs. Terri Lee Freeman have been blessed to celebrate 23+ years of marriage. They are the proud and thankful parents of three daughters: Corryn Grace, Camille Louise, and Carmen Katherine.

Heeding the Lord's call, Dr. Freeman began serving as Pastor of New St. Mark Baptist Church (NSMBC) in November 1998. Since that time NSMBC continues to work & serve under the Christ-centered vision of Spiritual Regeneration, Social Transformation, Community Reconciliation, and Physical Restoration.
